Redefining capacity building

For over three decades, the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) has been at the forefront of strengthening human and institutional capacity for inclusive and sustainable development across Africa. With a membership spanning 40 African countries and key international institutions such as the African Development Bank, the United Nations Development Program, and the World Bank, ACBF remains a pivotal player in capacity development on the continent.

In today’s rapidly changing governance landscape, the ACBF has identified the urgent need for a highly skilled labour force. For too long, the focus has been solely on technical skills. However, professional skills such as leadership, management, communication, data analytics for decision making, negotiation, problem-solving, and strategic thinking are crucial in addressing the specific challenges faced across the continent and drive meaningful change.
